BarneyFrank answers "frankly" to idiot
August 20th 2009 00:39
Of course there are persons who hail from the right who have legitimate questions about health care reform and what it means to them. And of course they have every right to do so, and to have their questions answered. But what we have seen on television from the boisterous on the right has nothing to do with democracy or legitimate debate.
The first clip I linked to is of a woman who had been comparing health care reform to "Hitler's T4 program" aimed at eliminating those deemed not worthy from society. The clip picks up just as she is wrapping up her question and gives Barney Frank's answer.
Really Long Link
This clip, if you can stomach it, is the oafish Sean Hannity, with backup from the "other" Wicked Witch of the North, Michele Bachmann. Notice, if you will, there is no coverage of the exchange that is really making news, in which Barney Frank calls down a "constituent" who is calling him a Nazi supporter.
It has the FOX News version of Clark Kent breathlessly covering other goings on, but no mention of the abject idiocy expressed by the woman Barney Frank compared to a dining room table. It's no wonder FOX viewers are so badly informed.
Really Long Link
Why have some on the right decided to take the express bus to crazy town anyway? We have gun toting jackasses show up at presidential events. Does anyone remember the Bush public events? You could get arrested for wearing a t-shirt! How long is it before one of them just starts shooting up the place?
We have so-called "informed citizens" protesting "government health care" while clinging tightly to their Medicare card. It's one thing to have real questions, it's quite another to be so brainwashed by talking points fed to them by sources of information so obviously tainted as to be laughable.
What does it compare to? Going to a baseball game and yelling at the umpires for pigeon poop? That doesn't work, it's not really comparable to actual crazy, as this is "stupidity based" crazy. So damn loopy you actually believe Obama is trying to off Grandma. After all, if Sean Hannity or Glenn Beck say it, it's almost as good as Jesus, right?
Come on people, If you want a debate, let's have it - but don't go into a battle of wits completely unarmed!

Don't tell me that health care rationing is necessary, because we can do better than that. Right? As a nation.

Please stop pushing a cult of cultural pessimism. That in itself is the essence of fascism and nazism.
