No, Obama didn't say Sarah Palin is a pig...
September 10th 2008 05:57
No, Barack Obama, when talking about Republican policy and John McCain being Bush continued said "You can put lipstick on a pig. It's still a pig. You can wrap up an old fish in a piece of paper and call it change. It's still going to stink in eight years." No, he didn't mean Caribou Barbie.
"The other side, suddenly, they're saying 'we're for change too. Now think about it, these are the same people who have been in charge for eight years." Is what Obama said preceding that remark. Of course he was talking about Republican policy, and the mediocre excuse for leadership coming from the right. But desperate to latch on to Sarah Gump's fifteen minutes and get eighteen minutes of play out of them, righties around the country are all aghast. Not upset because the Palin-McCain ticket promises the status quo, but only more of it. No, upset because they need to play the victim to the mean ol' Liberals. Those nasty libs who would call their Sarah out and say not only is she not qualified to be vice-president, but she wasn't qualified to be mayor of Wasilla.
John McCain, by allowing Sarah Palin to be picked for him, removed the very last teeny-tiny claim he ever held to being a "Maverick." He caved to the side of the party he once called intolerant. He has gone from being against tax cuts for the rich to being for them. From sponsoring comprehensive immigration reform to saying he would vote against his own bill. And now he has agreed to become second fiddle to a Palin dominated ticket.
Before some try to attack me as being misogynistic, realize that her gender has nothing at all to do with my feelings against her. She is the epitome of the most dangerous side of the conservative movement. The kind of person that would have us living in a theocratic state of corporate domination. An unholy alliance of greed and god that would turn America into something very, very, ugly. At least John McCain doesn't think god is talking to him all the time.
So don't be distracted. Don't let silly distractions keep you from looking at the big questions. Ask yourself if you want to see health care addressed, or the economic downward spiral, or the misuse of military. Do you want to see America continue down the road of becoming a rogue nation? The Palin-McCain ticket is dangerous on so many levels, and cannot be allowed to dupe Americans into supporting it.

Misogynistic? No chance. If only others would also focus on the issues.
Also, I agree with pretty much everything you just said. I hope her star fades in time....

The "lipstick" comment is all over the news here today. I also just saw the McCain ad which depicts Obama as a wolf hunting down Palin. Well, now we know why she was the VP pick. Big, scary black man hunting down the poor defenceless white woman. Racism and sexism rolled into one.
And the Repubs have sunk to a new low.

Check this out...on FOX the right-wing mouthpiece said those who are attacking Palin are "using a pea-shooter on an elephant" does that mean he thinks Sarah Palin is an elephant?
