Sarah Palin being "educated" by Joe Lieberman
September 7th 2008 16:35
Ah, Joe Lieberman. I suppose it's a redundancy to call him a hack. And now we hear that the Coward of Connecticut is trying to educate Caribou Barbie before someone actually asks her a question. Sarah Palin is sequestered away, not allowed to go on any news show or to face reporters at all. She isn't even allowed to campaign away from McCain. And now we learn she is being coached on foreign policy by Joe Lieberman.
I suppose Joe figures he is done trying to bring McCain up to speed. Yes, John, Sunni and Shia are different, and Iraq doesn't border Afghanistan. So what is good ol' Lieberman going to teach Sarah Palin? He's taken on a gargantuan task, that's for sure. He's got a woman who the campaign claims has "been to Europe" because she once changed planes at Shannon airport. That's in Ireland, Sarah.
He has a student who is being credited with international experience because "Alaska is the closest state to Russia." Try searching for flights from Anchorage to Moscow without being routed to the east, most likely even through the U.S. mainland. Why? Because between Alaska and Moscow lies Siberia, the biggest and least populated area in the world, save Antarctica. The capital of Siberia, Novosibirsk, is still farther away from any ocean (including the Pacific) then I am from the beaches of Florida (I live in Oregon, the Pacific Northwest) - so I thought I might offer Joe Lieberman some advice when faced with the daunting task of bringing Sarah Palin up to speed.
Start with the basics. Get a globe, and have her point to the countries she knows anything about. Yes, Sarah, Georgia is a state AND a country! And no, Sarah, Russia isn't also called "Gog and Magog" regardless of what the end-timers say. China isn't just where Wal-Mart makes stuff. The Palestinian questions go beyond Israel driving infidels from the holy land.
Jokes aside, does America really want a vice president, serving under a not-so-healthy looking guy in his 70's, who has such a narrow and dogma-driven view of the world? A person who needs to be hidden away from the press and crash-coursed to avoid big gaffes? Who favors teaching biblical principles in schools, regardless of science, or other religious viewpoints? Who thinks women should only have the right to make her choices?
