The Birthers - crazy is as....
August 9th 2009 01:36
Just in case you don't know what a "Birther" is, the short definition is "Cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs" or "A few bricks short of a load" or maybe "bat shit crazy." Sure, some might say a birther is a someone who challenges the legitimacy of President Barack Obama's birth being in America. In short, someone who so despises the idea of Barack Obama as president that they are willing to take a trip to fruitcakeville in a bid to discredit him.
Several fake birth certificates have surfaced, all of them laughable in their obvious lack of credibility. The person most out front in pushing the birther movement is the equally laughable Orly Taitz. She is even proving nutty to the absolute nutters who are the birther movement.
And in a funny twist, it appears the birthers have been "punk'd." One of the most recent fakes comes (supposedly) from Kenya, where most birthers believe to be Barack Obama's real birthplace. No matter that there is incontrovertible evidence he was born in Hawaii. Never mind that it would take a conspiracy of mind-numbing prescience to hide a Kenyan birth in order for a baby to later become president.
The birth certificate was so bad that everyone but the birthers dismissed it immediately. It's telling that so many of the birthers didn't. They took it as gospel and ran with it, sure that they had the smoking gun proving Barack Obama isn't American born.
They didn't even question that the certificate was from the Republic of Kenya, although at the time of Obama's birth there was no such country. Kenya was still a British Dominion. Nor did they realize that the birth city listed, Mombasa, was actually part of Zanzibar at that time. There were many other clues to the lack of validity, but the birthers didn't care.
Why is the movement as big as it is, with about a third of Republicans at least giving it some support? Not because they are concerned the Constitution is being violated, that's for sure. They can't stand the fact that Barack Obama is president. Maybe because they hate liberals and perceive Obama as a leftist. Maybe they can't believe an African American is president. What is certain is that they want President Obama to fail personally. Not just his policies or party, but him.
The birthers are much more a reflection of themselves than they are of anything else.

When we moved to another state, she started emailing my wife, sending her emails containing the same crap. When Barack Obama was campaigning for the presidency, she sent us emails about how he wasn't an American, that he was a Muslim, that he was going to turn the US into an Islamic republic, and that the streets would be filled with Islamic suicide bombers.
Then her daughter had a baby with a black man, Barack Obama was elected President, and I sent her an email saying that Barack Obama had given her new black/white grandson the opportunity to one day be President.
We haven't heard from her since then.

Actually you know what my favourite part in all this is? This:
This woman went to the trouble of earning a real estate licence sho she wouldn't have to pay a real agent comission for selling her house. See there's greedy and then there's greedy.
