The Staw Man and the "war on Christmas"

It's that time of year again, when we hear in America are told to be wary, for there is foul play afoot, a veritable war on that most esteemed of holidays, Christmas. It's an undeclared war, with no real fronts, no real battles, no real threat, and most assuredly, no WMD's. Still, it rears it's ugly head, spoke about vocally and frequently by Fox News pundits and others with equally valid credentials.
It would be funny if it weren't so damned irritating. Still, it can be funny....here is an article I first wrote last year, but still has bearing.

IT IS A DARK TIME IN THE
GALAXY.....
FREE FORCES OF THE
SECULAR-PROGRESSIVES
FIND THEMSELVES
UNDER ATTACK...
FOR BEING TOLERANT.....
"This is your secular-progressive correspondent 'Hap" Holiday reporting from the front lines of what has erroneously been deemed the War on Christmas. As you know, the secular progressive forces were viciously attacked on several fronts by the forces of the ignorant right. Caught off guard, the sec-progs were pushed back against the walls of intolerance until they were able to mount a counter attack. When the sec-progs pointed out that there was no War on Christmas and that Christmas was originally a Pagan holiday anyway, the evil forces led by the Dark Lords O'Reilly and Gibson launched a devastating attack on sec-prog tolerance and acceptance of diversity. The sec-progs saw a weakness in the front line of the Christmas Crusaders and broke through with a sharp thrust of reason. Momentarily devastated, the Armies of Ignorance were reeling. Then, against the flag of freedom and the banner of truth, the Dark Lord O'Reilly, commanding a force of screaming neo-elves, sealed the gap and surrounded the forces of tolerance. Hap Holiday, reporting."
WITH INTOLERANCE ON THE MARCH,
THE CHRISTMAS CRUSADERS FEEL EMBOLDENED...
THEY ALREADY SPEAK ABOUT EXPANDING
THEIR CULTURE WAR.....
Again, Hap Holiday. "With the sec-progs on the ropes, the Dark Lords of FOX begin to expand the war to other areas. They returned to firing on Nancy Pelosi and the forces of "San Francisco" Values. Then a unexpected move, the Jolly Red Man himself, Santa Claus, rallied his forces to assist the beleaguered sec-progs. Declaring that "the holidays are for all, and to all a good night" Mr. Claus led a reigndeer charge. The tide seems to have turned in this imaginary conflict, and progressive thought is breaking through the lines of ignorance. Hap Holiday, reporting from the front."
